Rejuva-Lift® Enriched Cell Assisted Lipotransfer formerly known as Stem Cell Breast Augmentation is a unique combination of liposuction and natural breast augmentation. Many women dream of having bigger breasts -- but without the foreign implants -- and a smaller body. The body’s own fat, rich in stem cells, can enhance the breasts, while reducing the size of thighs and hips.

Many candidates fear a reaction to foreign implants placed in their bodies. Breast enlargement through fat transfer is now recognized internationally as an excellent alternative to traditional breast implants.

Liposuction provides a unique method of harvesting fat cells that can then be moved to select areas of the face and body, to improve contours and appearance. Enriched Cell Assisted Lipotransfer formerly known as Stem cells within the fat tissue have been found to possess repair and renewal capabilities, and prompt older cells to behave in a more youthful manner.

This fat-transfer procedure was developed in 2004, by Dr. Kotaro Yoshimura of Tokyo, Japan. It involves extracting fat, using half of it for extracting the cells containing growth factors, and the other half for transfer after the fat has been removed. The two halves are re-combined to produce the tissue used for Enriched Cell Assisted Lipotransfer formerly known as Stem Cell Breast Augmentation.

Generally, those patients desiring a modest increase of one or two cup sizes are ideal candidates for Enriched Cell Assisted Lipotransfer formerly known as Stem Cell Breast Augmentation. However, the patient must have enough fat in the hips or thighs to extract for the transfer. Patients who are exceedingly thin may not have enough fat to harvest and transfer.

A patient's present bra cup size is important, when considering breast augmentation. Someone wearing an A cup bra may have small tissue envelopes for insertion of the transferred cells. In that case, the breasts may only be enlarged to a B cup, while another patient with a B cup could be enlarged to a C or D cup.

Enriched Cell Assisted Lipotransfer formerly known as Stem Cell Breast Augmentation doesn’t use embryonic stem cells; it utilizes the patient’s own stem cells containing growth factors. When added to the fat graft, these growth cells nurture and sustain the tissue. So successful is this technique that more than 85 percent of the cells transferred remain viable.

Dr. Schafer’s unique Rejuva-Lift of the breasts utilizes the LipoKit® and MaxStem® technologies from Korea to produce optimal results. LipoKit and MaxStem utilize entirely "closed" systems to separate and condense fat. This prevents any direct fat-handling, minimizing the risk of contamination and infection.

Briefly, the procedure consists of these steps:
• Lipocondensation, using special closed systems, harvests and separates the best fat cells.
• Fat is removed to a special incubator which uses Dr. Schafer’s own Rejuvenase® as a cleaving agent. Stem cells are thereby isolated.
• The harvested fat and isolated cells are re-combined to produce the “enriched fat graft.”

For optimal results, pre–surgical counseling provides a customized plan for the patient, based on overall anatomy and aesthetic profile. Fat grafting is not for everyone, including someone desiring very large breasts.

At one time, fat grafting for breast augmentation caused calcification and scarring that was visible on mammograms, and misdiagnosed as malignancies. The Rejuva-Lift technique results in minimal calcification and scarring. Additionally, advances in mammography screening technology now help radiologists differentiate between fat-grafting changes and malignancy, with a high degree of accuracy.

Enriched Cell Assisted Lipotransfer formerly known as Stem-cell and fat-grafting procedures can also be used to repair breast abnormalities, including deformities or implant complications, capsular contracture, rippling, or inadequate soft tissue coverage.
